Unlike most manufacturers, Charter operates its own CSA-certified lab directly within our factory. This unique capability allows us to conduct rigorous safety and compliance testing on-site—accelerating the certification process and ensuring every product meets or exceeds CSA, UL, and ETL standards for the North American and Canadian market. By offering in-house engineering support in tandem with in-factory certification, we eliminate delays, reduce risk, and deliver fully compliant, market-ready products faster than the competition.

Founded in 1985, what began as a solution to meet the cast iron needs of our family-run businesses in Taiwan has grown into a global world-class manufacturing powerhouse—producing premium castings, sheet metal products, stainless steel solutions, and more. With decades of expertise in metals, precision engineering, and product innovation, we’ve built a vertically integrated operation that delivers on quality, scalability, and speed — all while staying rooted in our commitment to craftsmanship, customer-first values, and sustainable growth.
Our finished products include outdoor stainless grills, commercial kitchen equipment, fireplace and firepit items and barbecue acessories. Rooted in the Huang family legacy, Charter was founded on craftsmanship, trust, and entrepreneurial grit. With a deep understanding of metals and materials, we started small—but built with purpose. Today, our reach spans continents, yet our attention to detail remains unchanged.
OUR FACTORIES
Our factories are all located within two hours outside of Shanghai, China. We are proud to announce our latest opening and partnership with the largest stainless steel producer in China, as this new factory will facilitate many advantages to American businesses. We believe that not only will this secure future supplies of stainless and other metals, but will offer an extreme price advantage as the location of our factories are contiguous to the main steel producing facility. In total, Charter's facilities encompass over 1,000,000 sq. ft. in six locations. Each facility is dedicated to a certain mission or product group. In 2004, Charter Enterprises produced over 130,000 barbecues and we are proud to say that most of our clients are not direct competitors. We selectively look for niche market opportunities.
